2020 J.B. Cupp Lifetime Achievement Award

March 24, 2022 | Wheaton News & Events

It was an honor to present the 2021 Lifetime Achievement award to Ralph Bingham.

“Ralph has always been a no-nonsense operator who bleeds customer service. He takes the concepts of a work ethic and personal responsibility to new heights,” said Ron Borkowski, vice president of operations at Bekins Van Lines.

A 43-year network veteran, Ralph credits much of his makeup and core beliefs to things he learned from his single parent mother – his father passed away when he was only 4 – and credits his early days on his journey to becoming an Eagle Scout.

In 1977, a friend asked Ralph if he wanted to earn some cash helping out at his moving company in Cedar City, Utah. A few months later, Ralph borrowed a down payment and became the owner of the company at age 24. He’s been in our system ever since. In 1980 he moved to St. George, where he opened Dixie Moving & Storage, which he sold a few years ago. It’s still an active agency today.

Along the way Ralph has accumulated approximately 4 million miles behind the wheel, or, as he describes it, 8 trips to the moon and back.

The Lifetime Achievement winner and his wife, Pamela, have been blessed with five children and 13 grandchildren. Ralph says if given the opportunity to live his life over again, he wouldn’t hesitate to do the same thing all over again, including his 43-year career with the van line.
