Wheaton Pulls For Good

October 15, 2021 | Wheaton Company News

Last Friday, Wheaton agents across the country got together in Music City to compare challenges, discuss and update best practices, and do as much good for our favorite nonprofits as possible — all while hearing a ton of great bands.

We had two big projects we used to raise money for Give Kids The World (GKTW) Village and Move For Hunger:

  • A silent auction for GKTW, a nonprofit resort in Central Florida that offers week-long, cost-free vacations to children with critical illnesses and their families
  • A truck pull for both GKTW and Move For Hunger, a nonprofit that organizes food donations to food pantries all over the country, keeping nonperishables out of landfills and in the communities that need them

The silent auction featured items such as a Nashville Predators signed photo, Seattle Seahawks tickets, a Cincinnati getaway including tickets to Kings Island and the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and a Wheaton-branded cornhole set. Through the auction, we were able to bring in $10,168 for GKTW!

We shuttled from our hotel over to Nissan Stadium, home of the Tennessee Titans, to put on a new-to-Wheaton event — a Truck Pull Fundraiser. Our 16 teams of 8 raced to pull a Wheaton moving truck across the finish line — 100 feet from the starting point. Through our event sponsors and a kick-in from the van line, we donated $10,000 each to GKTW and Move For Hunger!
