Perry Moving & Storage background
Since the early 1920s, the Perry family has been involved in the moving and storage business. William A. Perry, Sr. purchased a freight company called Nyack Express in Nyack, N.Y., outside New York City. He moved furniture and appliances in the Manhattan area, and when his son William Perry, Jr. joined the company in 1962, they added interstate moving to their list of services. William Jr.’s son Rich joined the family business in 1990 and worked with his father for more than 10 years before starting Perry Moving & Storage with his brother, Sam. Today, Rich focuses on operations while Sam and Rich’s wife, Tara, manage the sales and marketing side of the business. According to Rich, “It is not unusual to see our fourth generation running around our office or warehouse.”
